On Sunday July 26th Angela, Katie and friends had a great day drinking tea and eating cake to raise money for Plymouth Sugar Zappers (Diabetes UK). Despite the horrible drizzly weather there was a really good turnout and approximately 70 people came during the course of the day to give their support for our valuable cause. They had an abundance of cake and held a raffle with lots of amazing prizes. In total They raised £500 which was absolutely amazing and they would like to thank all who attended, donated cakes and prizes and especially the 'helpers' in the kitchen for keeping the dishes down and the drinks constantly flowing. Angela and Katie said "It was nice to see other 'sugar zappers' and their families particularly the children who were all able to meet each other. This was truly a successful event and well worth doing." 

As a new group we are so lucky to have volunteers like Angela and Katie to help us raise funds, and all the money from the day will go towards the events we have planned to help support local families who are effected by diabetes.
